One - Set goals
It gives your actions direction and allows you
to check yourself. Without goals, how would you measure progress?
Two - Limit distractions
If you’re tempted by something easily
removable from your workspace, remove it! If you work at home, let your family
know your “do not disturb” hours.
Three - Text message instead
Don't use "text speak" in your business texts! |
Four - Work in intervals
If you have a problem staying focused or you get burned out easily, try working in 30 minute intervals and taking short breaks after each interval. Read work related blogs and magazines during your break interval as a productive break alternative.Five - Handle problems
Handle small problems and details as they come so they don’t pile up on you in the long run.
Six - Use a voice recorder
Use a voice recorder to capture ideas on the go, like
during a workout or while driving. Ideas and inspiration can come to you at
anytime, but a pen and paper are not always within reach and typing little
notes are not always convenient. A voice recorder simplifies brain dumping.
Seven - Write on your business card
When you get a new business card, write on it where you
met the contact and something you discussed. It’ll save time later when you
need to reach out to the contact.
Eight - Tweak your to-do list
Break down your to do list into clear, specific easily
accomplished actions —NOT reminders!...because attitude is everything! |
Nine - Stay motivated!
Stay motivated. Put up words of encouragement, pictures,
favorite quotes, etc around your workspace. When you feel like quitting or
taking an unneeded break, remind yourself why you do what you do and why you
need to handle the task (or tasks!) at hand.
Ten - Unwind
Unwind at the end of the day so you’re refreshed and
ready to go in the morning!
Comment, share, and then get back to work!
